Each year, Rotary awards up to 130 fully funded Rotary Peace Fellowship for dedicated leaders from around the world to study at one of their peace center

About the Rotary Peace Fellowship

The Rotary Peace Fellowship is designed for leaders with work experience in peace and development. Rotary fellows are committed to community and international service and the pursuit of peace.

Since Its inception in 2002 the Rotary Peace Centers have trained more than 1,300 fellows who work in more than 115 countries. Many as leaders in governments, NGOs, the military, education, law enforcement, and international organizations like the United Nations and the World Bank.

Through academic training, practice, and global networking opportunities, the Rotary Peace Centers program develops the capacity of peace and development professionals or practitioners to become experienced and effective catalysts for peace.

What the Fellowship covers

  • The fellowships cover tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and all internship and field-study expenses.

How to Apply for Rotary Peace Fellowship 2020/2021

There are two program path, you have to choose the program that’s right for you:

Master’s degree programs

  • Accepted candidates study peace and development issues with research-informed teaching and a diverse student body
  • The programs last 15 to 24 months and include a two- to three-month field study, which participants design themselves

Professional development certificate program

  • The Program last for one year.
  • During the one-year program, experienced peace and development professionals with diverse backgrounds gain practical skills to promote peace within their communities and across the globe.
  • Fellows complete field studies, and they also design and carry out a social change initiative

Eligibility

Master’s degree Program

  • The ideal candidate is academically strong
  • Has a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Has work experience in peace and development.
  • Be proficient in English
  • Candidates need to demonstrate a commitment to peace and conflict resolution
  • Be able to undertake extensive reading and discussion in the pursuit of knowledge.
  • Be able to participate actively within a diverse cohort of students.
  • After the program, candidates should be willing to share their own work and experience, staying in touch with peace fellows in their region and maintaining strong connections with Rotary members.
  • Have a strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace as shown through professional and academic achievements and personal or community service
  • Has Potential for leadership
  • Have at least three years of full-time experience in peace or development work

Note: You are not eligible if you are an active Rotary member, employee of a Rotary club, Rotary International, or other Rotary entity.

Professional development certificate program

  • The ideal candidate is a proven peace and development leader with at least five years of relevant work experience.
  • Candidates need to come to the program with a social change initiative to promote peace and development within the program region or their community, and have a clear vision of how the fellowship experience and network will help advance their peace work and increase their impact.
  • After the program, candidates should be willing to share their own work and experience, staying in touch with peace fellows in the region and maintaining strong connections with Rotarians.
  • Be proficient in English
  • Have a bachelor’s degree
  • Have a strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace as shown through professional and academic achievements and personal or community service
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
  • Be able to explain how their plan to promote peace aligns with Rotary’s mission
